Informants and gossip#

The Envoy House gathers information through envoys, merchants and informants. It is expensive and takes time before it starts to report. Its own development tree expands the network, step by step, to learn:

  1. which doctrines your rivals have chosen;
  2. which rivals are researching a new age or doctrine, and roughly how far along;
  3. the rough size of a rival's army by class, such as few or many cavalry, but never where it is;
  4. that two rulers are negotiating, but never what they are offering.

Keeping your own secrets#

One branch of the tree protects you. It delays or blurs what rivals learn about you, but it never makes you invisible.

Some culture groups call the building by their own name. It works the same for everyone.
