Caravan trade
Earn on a completed round trip and understand why access can interrupt it.
Set a home and an external destination#
A caravan uses an owned completed market as home and travels to an external market or public town. Your own second market is not a valid external partner. A partner market requires the exact signed access grant. Public towns remain accessible even when ownership changes.
A trip earns gold after loading externally and returning to its original home. The quote is fixed for that trip from endpoint distance and the applicable bonuses. Taking a longer path or detouring does not increase it. A caravan that dies before payment does not earn its quoted gold.
Losing access during a trip#
Access must remain valid throughout the trip. If it ends while a loaded caravan is returning, that unpaid trip is aborted. Signing another grant does not revive it. A surviving caravan can return safely and begin a fresh lawful trip.
Changing the destination also abandons the old unpaid trip. Tactical movement or waiting alone does not silently pay or cancel a trip. The current route, trip and access end explain what the caravan can do next.
The market's resource exchange is separate from caravan travel. It trades resources against gold at the displayed rates; it is not a way to create value by repeatedly buying and selling the same resource.
